Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, Sleep Meds for Fibromyalgia, Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease, and Simplifying Medications

A recent study demonstrated that weight-supported walking exercise resulted in improved function compared to flexion  for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. A clinical trial of sodium oxybate showed efficacy as a hypnotic for patients with fibromyalgia. Deep Brain Stimulation resulted in a greater symptom reduction than best medical therapy for Parkinson's Disease.  We close with a clinical discussion of a practical strategy to simplify complex regimens of medications.
